  25. I want the GUI for one reason and one reason only: tektronix
  26. emulation.  Add that and I am pretty sure our university will
  27. go for a site license.

  29. There are few graphics options available for modem users. With
  30. fast connections, we all use x-servers, but x-servers have
  31. too much overhead for modem links.  MS-Kermit in Tek emulation 
  32.  met our graphics needs satisfactorily even with 9600 baud modems.
  33. (2400 baud was not terrible.)

  35. P.S. I haven't used Kermit since June of 1995, but I still 
  36. check this newsgroup every couple of weeks to monitor progress
  37. toward Tektronix emulation under Windows. I still love and
  38. miss Kermit.
